History

The Norwegian Museum of Horticulture started at Berge farm in 1992 with the collections from Beisland's garden centre in Grimstad. In 2001, the museum moved to Planteskolebua, a nursery building at Dømmesmoen. Its collections focus on the town's horticultural heritage; wine production at Fuhr and Grimstad's canned food industry, and an exhibition showing the ecological interaction between nature, bees and people is also available.

Beisland's collections are still held at Berge farm.
