Guided tour of the Ibsen museum
Enjoy a guided tour of one of Grimstad’s most popular attractions!
The Ibsen Museum is one of Grimstad’s most visited attractions. You get to experience the original pharmacy in which the young apothecary's assistant Henrik Ibsen worked, and also the room in which he wrote his first play, Catilina. Ibsen spent six formative years of his youth in Grimstad, and the museum tells stories about Ibsen in love, his friendships, and the “illegitimate” child.
We recommend combining a visit to the Ibsen Museum with a guided town walk exploring the other key Ibsen locations in Grimstad.
NB! From June 24 to August 11 the museum offers daily guided tours by the hour from 11 am to 4 pm. The tours at 12:00 pm and 3:00 pm are in English. Book your ticket for the Ibsen-museum this summer here.
