Historical walk on Dømmesmoen
On this historic tour you will hear how the ice and the end moraine have created the natural diversity and varied landscape we find here at Dømmesmoen today.
Raet and the good soils also laid the foundations for an early farming culture, and the large burial ground we find here may indicate that Dømmesmoen was a local center of power in the Iron Age.
We also deal with the recent history of Dømmesmoen where, over the last more than hundred years, the Gardening School has left its mark on the site and shaped it into the green pearl as we know it today.
We recommend ending your walk with coffee and freshly made waffles in the café at the Horticultural Museum.
