Horticulture: A rhubarb and redcurrant adventure

Learn more about Fuhr Fino and Grimstad’s wine adventure!

Fruit wine making in Norway dates back to medieval times, and increased in popularity during the 1800s.

Grimstad was at the forefront of this development with Mons Fuhr and his wife Juliane starting up commercial production at Vardåsvollen in the early 1900s.

Rhubarb was long considered the most important ingredient, and Fuhr’s Rabarbervin was a familiar brand all over the country. The exhibition shows parts of the production, and tells the story of the country's largest wine cellar.
